It is very cold in Japan. This week I initiated my position both in Harley-Davidson(HOG) and Ford Motor Company (F).
Regarding HOG, I made a big mistake in timing of my purchase order. My buy order was executed at $40.55 per share + $27 commission on February 8th. On the same day, HOG closed at $39.30. As of writing, the price is $38.71, so my position in HOG has already 5.6% unrealized loss just two days after my purchase. As I have 80 shares, my forward annual gross dividend from HOG will be $112.00 and yield-on-cost was 3.4%.
Next day on February 9th, I bought 220 shares of F at $11.35 per share with $6.95 commission. This new position is expected to add $132 to my annual forward gross dividend income. The yield-on-cost was 5.3%.
